"A celebration of life for John Paul Jr. was held this past Monday in Los Angeles.  The list of attendees was impressive, some zooming in, like Brian Redman, James Weaver and Chris Dyson to pay tribute.  I was asked to conduct the emcee duties and it was my pleasure for sure.  My friend Bill Patterson, attended and did one of his famous and very popular live paintings of John Paul Jr. in the well known JLP Porsche 935.  I was asked to auction it off and we were able to achieve $10,000 from some very charitable and enthusiastic bidders.  The money from that and the extensive silent auction items all went to the John Paul Jr. Huntington's Disease Foundation, Inc. which is tasked with raising awareness and money to support the research to find a cure for this horrible disease that took John Paul Jr.  During the day so many great stories were shared about some of his incredible victories and the talent he was.  And just as importantly, everyone remembered what a truly nice and humble guy he was.  If you know much about John Paul Jr., you know he was dealt a tough hand in life even before he had to deal with Huntington's Disease.  John passed back in December of last year, and due to Covid, this celebration was held off until now..."
